Sister BFFs by Philippa Rice

Sister BFFs is a graphic novel that shows the sisterly bond of the author, Philippa, and her younger sister, Holly. Their funny relationship banters, and moments were definitely amusing to read. My sister and I's relationship is way different from Philippa and her sister's because I guess we're a bit serious especially when giving advice or opinion.

As for the author, their bond is more on the hilarious and silly side and that they are not afraid to talk about anything, and on trying new things. A lot of women could be able to relate to this graphic novel, particularly those who have one or two sisters and has a comical connection with them.

I enjoyed the author's narration of her and her family's life story. Although there are some parts that I doze off especially on the part where she tells her story about one of her exes. But some of her stories are quite comic like when she and her dad rode the plane and there was a turbulence. There are also some noteworthy subtle pieces of advice usually on every end of the chapters. If you are looking for a witty, quirky and light read novel this coming weekend; then this book definitely suits you.

While reading this graphic novel, I remember that I was offered thrice to be a teacher/instructor before. I can handle teaching just not the baggage teaching has like being patient to your students; I was born without an ounce of patience that's why being a teacher is way out of my league.

I have a lot of respect for our teachers because teaching and handling students at the same time is quite an arduous task. I know that several of them got a lot of sense of humor, they just don't show it especially while in class, and it is apparent in this book. Usually, a teacher's salary isn't enough for all the workload and stress they have to endure; so maybe they just made a good laugh about it rather than moping in the corner. I like several anecdotes in this book and one of them is: My students call me teacher, but I like to think of myself as "Breeder of tomorrow's leaders." Just sounds more precise.

MY RATING:If You Give a Man a Cookie is a 32-pages pure comic entertainment. Wives would be able to relate to the funny and — more often than not — annoying behaviors of their husbands that were narrated in this graphic novel.



This comics made me realize that (a lot of) women are indeed mature in thinking than men. Thus, we usually clean up their mess, both literally and figuratively, and take care of their needs as they behave like a child sometimes. Ending is both funny and it's like that the author was trying to convey a message: that women should not always try to pamper their partners.
