50 Ways to Feel Happy: Fun activities and ideas to build your happiness skills
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A very colorful and well-illustrated book that not only children will get to enjoy, but young adults and much older readers will also get to appreciate this. The information may not be new information for older readers but reading this is like reminding us that sometimes we should exert some effort to find some happiness. Once in a while, we experience a little gloom in our lives, but we can reverse it if only we wanted to. And this cute and short-read book might help us to find that joy we are looking for.

Lydie by Zidrou

Lydie
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The story of Lydie will leave readers on thinking of what could be real or not, especially the ending. While reading the unfortunate story of Camille, I can't help but sympathize with her loss. I could be just like her neighbors who tried to understand her situation and just let her believe that her baby came alive. They were not making a fool out of her by trying to act as if what she was saying is true, hence, they thought it is the only way to make Camille at least be happy and still go on with her life.
Lydie by Jordi Lafebre and Zidrou
Lydie is a graphic novel that will teach us about empathy, love, friendship, and faith. Lastly, the mystery in the ending is another great way to end the story of Camille and the people of Mustachioed Baby Court. It is quite thought-provoking and will make you think of who is really the sane one and what is the truth.

Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card, Vol. 1 by CLAMP

Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card, Vol. 1
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I was familiar with Cardcaptor Sakura because it has a TV adaptation that was released in the 90's. I used to watch the said anime when I was a kid but I wasn't able to watch the whole series. This new season in the famous Japanese manga is a treat for fans of the said manga and anime. Although the story and the characters could be a bit childish, it is just some of the reasons why there are a lot of people who like it.

Limited Edition by Aude Picault

Limited Edition
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Limited Edition tackles some real-life issues that women were experiencing, such as still being single in their 30s, pregnancy, and being in a relationship. I'm quite sure that women will appreciate the tale of Claire in this graphic novel, and they will be able to relate to some of the topics addressed in the story.

The World Book of Records by Tonino Benacquista

The World Book of Records
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Reading the story of Paul and the people he encounters who wants to be included in The World Book of Records is sort of a reminder that we don't need to achieve something just to make us a better person. This one-shot comic book is a must-read because it will make you ponder on things such as fame and validations are really not that important. And that failures in life don't merely mean that we are not good. Instead, these setbacks give us more ways to improve and to reflect.

Shug by Jenny Han

Shug
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I was looking for a light read and this book was in my Kindle for a quite a long time. So, I've decided to give this a chance and I'm really glad that I checked it out. It was really worth the time to stay up late and it's also absolutely fine that I was slightly sleepy during the day just to be able to finish this book.

This sort of reminds me of the book Flipped by Wendelin Van Draanen because of the age of the protagonists, which is middle-graders. However, I'm slightly leaning to Van Draanen's work because of the ending and that the two-POV in the story is much better. Also, the conclusion to the story of Shug is a bit disappointing. For me, it's a bittersweet ending and I was even hoping that maybe there's a second installment to the story. But looks like it is to the reader's imagination on what happened to Shug and Jack, if they could see each other again in the future and if they will have a happy ending.

Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku, Vol 1 by Fujita

Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku, Vol 1
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

I request a reading copy of this manga because of the rating and that there is a lot of feedback about it. However, I was a little bit disappointed while reading it because it was not what I've expected it to be. It is not that great and that I find nothing spectacular especially with the characters and on the flow of the story.

This Is a Taco! by Andrew Cangelose

This Is a Taco!
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is a Taco by Cangelose and Shipley is a cute and funny story that even adults, such as I, will be delighted to read. In the beginning, the storyteller gives facts about squirrels but the character Squirrel made reading much interesting because of how funny he reacts to the trivia being discussed. This 30-page children's picture book is a marvelous and worthy to read, even if you're already way beyond the target audience of this book.

This Is a Whoopsie!
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I was able to read the ARC of This Is a Taco! that was also written and illustrated by Andrew Cangelose and Josh Shipley. I like the aforementioned book because of how informative and amusing it was, so I'm really glad that there's a new children's book released by this two. Aside from some of the facts mentioned in the book about the animal being focused, the story and the illustrations are quite funny to read. I like this book but I still love and prefer the first book that they have published.
